Boat Cover Care & Cleaning Guide

Proper care is important to maintain the life of your custom-made boat cover from CWTM, here are some guides to ensure the longevity of your purchase.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Avoid having any potentially heavy materials lay on the boat cover. (ex. leaves, sticks, water, snow, hail, etc.)

  • To prevent water from pooling on the cover use supports like poles, straps, or bows.

  • Ensure the boat cover is tightly secured to your boat

  • Our covers have extra patches for protection in those common wear and tear areas, but add padding anywhere you think necessary on your boat that may cause the boat cover to tear. Places like the windshield, depth finders, motors, etc.

  • Overcleaning may cause the fabric’s ability to repel water to diminish over time.

  • Before folding up the boat cover for storage, please ensure the cover is completely dry to avoid mildew/mold.

CLEANING
INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Regularly brush off any loose dirt or debris with a soft brush and rinse with lukewarm water, then allow it to dry completely.

  • To clean, mix a solution of lukewarm water and a mild/neutral soap, gently clean the fabric with a soft brush and rinse thoroughly with cold water. Allow the cover to air dry only. Do not use any other method to dry off the cover.

  • For more intense stains, it's advised to make a mixture of bleach and water. Create a maximum solution of 236 ml of bleach to 3.78 L of water. Do not use any detergents on the boat cover material. Spray it lightly on the face (non-coated) side of the stain and rinse immediately. Do not let the solution soak into the fabric. After cleaning with harsh chemicals, it is recommended to use 303 High Tech Fabric Guard.

  • Leaving any harsh chemicals on the fabric may cause the cover’s water repellent finish to deteriorate.
